Public Budget Hearing Workshop

The Ruthven-Ayrshire CSD held its 2025-2026 Public Budget Hearing in the Library in Ruthven, Iowa.  Those present were President Darin Malm, Vice President Jill Conlon arrived at 5:09 p.m., Director Susan Sikora arrived at 5:07 p.m., Superintendent Marshall Lewis, Principal Courtney Cook, SBO Josh Bader and Board Secretary Angie Woods.  Community members present: Ro Fieseler, Phillip Currans, Marty Currans, Todd DeJong and Heather DeJong. 

The workshop began at 5:05 p.m.  President Malm reviewed how the workshop will be conducted.

The purpose of the hearing is to better understand and explain the proposed 2025-2026 school year budget.

The public budget hearing began at 5:06 p.m.

Proof of timely notification was presented.

Superintendent Marshall Lewis agreed that the notice in the mail is not very clear. He explained how the notice was just an example and taxes should not change much if any. This was the main concern of the community members.

The budget hearing ended at 5:18 p.m.

There were no board comments.
