The use of students’ names and/or likenesses, employees’ names and/or likenesses, the school district name and/or likeness, and/or the school district’s buildings and sites for advertising and promoting products and/or services of entities and organizations operating for a profit shall be prohibited unless prior approval has been obtained from the board. Nonprofit entities and organizations may be allowed to use students’ manes and/or likenesses, employees’ names and/or likenesses, the school district name and/or likeness, or the school district’s buildings and sites if the purpose is educationally related, it is permitted under the law, and prior approval has been obtained from the board in accordance with board policies and procedures and the law.
